In honor of turning the magical number forty-one, my mother-in-law gifted me a generous Powell's card, with which I purchased:
- Shades of Milk and Honey, by Mary Robinette Kowal
- Gilead, by Marilynne Robinson
- The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins (I may be the only person who has not yet read these)
- The Maltese Manuscript, by Joanne Dobson (literary mysteries at their best)
AND! I won one of the Locus Challenge giveaway books:
Sadly, the book, had I but paid attention, is #3 in a series, prompting me to spend my own money on books 1 and 2. Despite bleeding my own money: WHEEEEEE!
Again, March proves why it's my favorite month of the year: Many delicious books to read!! Stay tuned...
Happy Birthday! And congrats on the wins.
ReplyDeleteI only read The Hunger Games recently. And have yet to read books 2 and 3.
Very nice! I'll be curious what you think of The Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteAh. The Hunger Games. I decided to read it after watching my daughter pretty much inhale the book. Twenty pages into it, I understood why and have since read the whole trilogy.
